Universe NFT  Pre-Sale live on 26th April Prices from 0.2 ETH > 69 ETH

Introducing Universe: A Multi-Layered Cultural Collaboration Between Fondation Vasarely, Paco Rabanne and Selfridges

Universe merges the past and the future, the physical and the digital, translating the shared visions of groundbreaking artists Paco Rabanne and Victor Vasarely across every possible touch point – from archive to SS22 collections, metaverse to NFTs. "Selling the future to restore the past" is the theme - with profits going to restore Victor Vasarely artworks at Fondation Vasarely, and to fund Paco Rabanne’s archive, including buying back archival garments, sketches, image rights, and improving preservation and storage.

Paco Rabanne & The ‘12 Unwearable’ NFTs

For his debut couture collection in 1966, Paco Rabanne presented ‘12 unwearable dresses in contemporary materials.’ His designs experimented with hammered metals, moulded plastics, aluminium jersey and knitted fur. Now the brand is pushing the concept of ‘unwearable’ further still by creating its collection of NFT dresses based on some of its most iconic Haute Couture designs from the past seven decades.

The owners of two premium 1/1 'Universe' NFTs will be invited to visit the Paco Rabanne store in Paris, where the atelier team will create a custom physical version of the original archive Haute Couture design, made to measure to the owner’s requirements. The assembly of each of these designs requires hundreds of hours of painstaking, intricate work to reproduce this truly iconic pieces.

Purchasing any of the 12 Paco Rabanne 'Universe' NFTs will allow the owner to be eligible for exclusive airdrops - including the first-ever Paco Rabanne Couture metaverse wearables.

Fondation Vasarely's Restorative NFT Project

Victor Vasarely was a scientist, an artist and an inspiration to many – including the likes of David Bowie for whom he created the album artwork for ‘A Space Oddity‘. His creative processes were combined with his love of mathematics and technology; his life's work was the study of employing analogue tools to create systems for image making.

In 1960 he developed ’Alphabet Plastique’, a formal visual language composed of units of shapes and colours that could be combined to create infinite possibilities. The program was universally legible and infinitely permutable — comparable to the human equivalent of what we know as coding, before the term ever existed.

The proceeds from the sale of the 12 unique Victor Vasarely NFT artworks will go to the Fondation Vasarely, a museum in Aix-en-Provence, France, designed by and dedicated to the artist.

Six of the NFTs – the ‘Universe Damaged’ collection – are digital designs of original artworks in the museum that require repair. Each of these will be programmed to refresh, visually reflecting the healing of these artworks seemingly in accordance with its physical counterpart.

The owners of select 'Universe' NFTs are eligible for priceless physical utilities including the ability to have a physical plaque with their name on display within the museum

Have questions?

Here are some answers to commonly asked questions. Did we miss something? DM us on Twitter to ask anything else.

Yes. ~50 million list registrations have happened on PREMINT without issue. When you sign in with PREMINT, you only are validating ownership of the wallet address. PREMINT does not get any permissions to perform transactions and does not have any way of withdrawing anything from your wallet.
Premint has been used by some of the top artists and collections in the NFT ecosystem, including XCOPY, Coldie, DeekayMotion, Cool Cats, Known Origin, Async Art, Shaq, and over 25,000 more.
Signing is the only way we can truly know that you are the owner of the wallet you are connecting. Signing is a safe, gas-less transaction that does not in any way give PREMINT permission to perform any transactions with your wallet.
PREMINT saves your wallet and social info as a part of the registration step, so you can disconnect everything afterwards and your entry is still valid.
As far as PREMINT is concerned, yes, but the project owner might check that you still own the token before finalizing the list.
If you fully registered, the only way your wallet wouldn’t be on the list of registered wallets is if the project removed it. PREMINT never deletes wallets from the list for any reason.
If you don’t know what wallet your Discord or Twitter are connected to, just go to https://premint.xyz/disconnect and you can force-disconnect them.
While creators are welcome to name their PREMINT projects whatever they like, we choose to use the term "allow list" or "access list" vs "whitelist." "Whitelist" could be considered exclusionary language, and the spirit of web3 is about inclusion.
