The 2023 U.S. Women’s Open ArtBall exists at the intersection of sport and innovation, a project that unlocks an iconic course to keep fans in the championship – on and off the green.
The ArtBall returns, this time in an immersive and gamified way for fans to participate in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Each ArtBall will be assigned a plot of a designated area on and around the 17th green at Pebble Beach. Gamified elements will be introduced that use these plots and offer holders with dynamically generated art, based on the championship shot-by-shot data, that makes these one-of-a-kind moments.
Combining the ArtBall legacy with the storied history of the U.S. Women’s Open and Pebble Beach, the 2023 U.S. Women’s Open ArtBall aims to amplify the key elements that made the ArtBall successful: data, gamification and fantasy, showcasing the skill of the players and the beauty of the course, while delivering a new channel for fans to engage in the game of golf.
Stroke by Stroke, ArtBall Takes Form
Where innovation meets Golf history. Through the intricate interplay of Amy Goodchild’s generative algorithms, an array of distinctive ArtBall patterns emerges stroke-by-stroke throughout the championship. Each pattern and colour palette takes form autonomously, driven by real-time input from the official championship data, unique to each holder’s designated plot on the course.

Each 2023 U.S. Women’s Open ArtBall is assigned a unique plot on the prestigious 17th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links. Metadata updates are rewarded based on ‘Landing Points’, ‘Closest to the Hole’ and ‘Longest Hole Out’ within the designated area across all four rounds of the championship.
